I have used a cup that fits on the door. It is kinda like what you put in a bird cage. It has little prongs that fit over the wire door. We use a wire cage so our dog can see out on all sides. It also allows for more air flow. Then I put the cup on the side. That way she cannot spill her water and has some while she is confined.
