Hold the tail down, that makes sense. He has been good all day today, with the exception of this morning's mishap. He was in the crate when I was out, he was fine. I took him out, gave him play time outside, gave him brief play time in the kitchen after "going" outside. He sat on the bed with me this afternoon (in his crate) and entertained himself with his chew toys until it was time to take him out. I have to admit, it was harder for me to wait the two hours than it was for him. Now he is sitting in his crate behind me watching us on the computer.
I think I would rather he go outside. I plan on leaving papers out at night, and if we have to be out of the house for a while. I'm not sure what the winter months will bring. We do not have a garage, but that sounds like a great alternative.
