Thats a hard one... I too have stairs and hate when Meka lets out a cry or bark and I have to go all the way down stairs to calm her or see whats going on... Patience is all I can say... And maybe letting them out in the yard might help... I agree with the other person - try filling up the wholes with something that cant be moved...
