It helps to have another person help you. Try to distract him with some good treats while you do it. Just do one paw at a time. If that doesn't work, you can probably buy a tiny muzzle or even use that mesh tape that people use to wrap their ankles (it sticks to itself I think). Also, if you look hard enough you can find a groomer who will show you how and even let you help. I'm finally able to do nails on my own, but my groomer INSISTS I bring them between appointments so she can pluck their ears (and cuddle them, I think.) They love her. We went through 3 groomers to find her, so they aren't easy to find but keep looking!

Whatever you do don't let them bite you. They will think it is OK. Distract them, muzzle them, whatever but don't let them start to practice nipping when mommy cuts nails.
