First of all I want to say I agree with this 100%. I am probably going to open a whole can of worms with this but this is what I mean when I said breeders are in between a rock and a hard place. I hear all about bettering the breed and I understand it BUT if show breeders are the only ones to breed yorkies and they spay and neuter all of the dogs that they dont keep for their own, then how are they possibly bettering the breed with their spayed and neutered progeny?
| I think they have them spayed and neutered because they had faults and wouldn't do well in the ring. So since they wouldn't be beneficial to their breeding program because of the faults, they place them in pet homes. And they spay and neuter them so that the owners won't breed dogs with faults.
