If you want to wait to do the BAT, then if I were you, I would feed her a low protein food like Natural Balance Vegetarian or Avoderm Vegetarian for a month, and then do the bile acid test. Make sure she hasn't received heartworm pill or flea treatment within 1 week or more from the date that you do the BAT. If the numbers are elevated, then you know there's an issue in her liver that was not caused by a high protein diet, heartworm pills or flea preventative...
