Hope the test will be repeated and all will be fine. If the levels were really high...the vet should have told you before hand, as it would make her a more surgical risk. With that being said...what were the actual numbers?
ALT is part of the liver function...BUN is part of the kidney function.
Winston's ALT was a little high at 76, normal at my lab is up to 67. Normal BUN is up to 38 and Winston's was 18. He had the bile acid test done, which was post meal a little high at 27.2...pre meal was fine at 1.9. Both of his vets confer, this is a normal test...insignificant findings.
Sure wish the very best for Zoey, don't worry about it too much...just repeat the same test as suggested, and do a bile acid test to put your mind at ease.
