Yeah it's fine. You have to remember that dogs are dogs. They have the carnivorous behavoir. I would be licking my chops if I smelled roast! haha.
I say it's cool to have it, but once you do, it must be kept up, or Louie will expect his momma to make him something special constantly. Do bring in a habit if you're not willing or don't have time to keep up.
I feel bad for my baby, my mom was cooking some beef, and Daisy was all over the place. But she's only a puppy... =) Silly girl.
