 Update
Thanks for the prayers! Gizmo seems to be doing well after his surgery.
But there is a little wrinkle. I found out this morning that the night before Gizmo was to be x-rayed he was suppose to go without food & water. So my friend had done a good job, with that. But apparently Gizmo was really hungry & in the middle of the night had eaten about half of a small rubber ball.
So now Terri thinks that may be all that was inside him, as that is all that the doctor found today during the surgery. The doctor said the pieces were so big that Gizmo would never had passed them.
But this still doesn't solve the issue, because he was having problems before he ate this particular ball. Unless there was also another ball he ate earlier in the summer. I also found out that some of his blood work is off. So I'm thinking he may have some other problems besides a ball in his stomach.
Of course my friend is also worried because Gizmo is on an IV & has to spend the night at the vet's office & she doesn't know if they come in to check on him at night or not. |
