I don't really think he is that much of a mess.
My Yorkie is 6 and she has peed in the house for the last two days because she obviously didn't feel like doing it outside.
Ellie snaps if she gets upset, protects her food, barks uncontrollably when someone is at the door, bites and barks at the vacuum, marks her territory, pulls on the leash, snaps at other dogs, yelps when left alone... I am sure I am missing a few. We are working on her issues but it takes time. Have you tried belly bands for the urinating when you are home?
