I work with my parents, we have a small business and about a month ago one of our technicians was driving down the road in a company vehicle, he had no stop sign or stop lights and an 8 year old boy ran a stop sign on his bicycle and ran right into the side of the van. We have about 6 witnesses saying they saw the boy run the stop sign but the family got a lawyer and is trying to sue. Our insurance company is dealing with it and not giving in. Our poor technician was really shaken up and felt horrible even though there's nothing he could have done to prevent it. You should be very proud of your son's honesty and it shows what great parents you both are! Thank God he's OK!
How lovely of you..yes he is a great kid, kind, honest and has never been any trouble and i'm very proud of him.
I asked him if he thought the guy was speeding and he said straight off that he wasn't and that it was totally his fault for stepping out from behind the caravan..i think he now understands how easy it is for accidents like this to happen. everytime he is going across to the skatepark which is at the back of our house and he has to cross a busy road to get to it, i ALWAYS say..'be careful crossing that road'!! and i'm sure he gets tired of me going on at him..but i think he now understands why!
