They say that you should take the babies within the first 2-3 days. We got Annie on a Thursday and then took her to the vet on Saturday. I don't think it should be too traumatic to take the puppy on the first day cause the first check-up the vet just checks the pup out so long as they are up to date on their shots. Annie first shots with us were at 10 weeks. We also got her at 8 weeks and she had just gotten her 8 week shots right before we got her.
As far as the food goes they slowly mix in a portion of the old stuff with the new stuff. ie ( 80% old 20% new then maybe 50% old and 50%) They say the dogs stomachs can get upset if you give them all of the new stuff at once. |
