I have flown Continental and AirTran. Both were really good experiences. Have a friend who's a stewardess for AirTran and they said that if you call the dog an 'emotional support' pet, the puppy can sit in your lap the whole trip and they can't do anything about it. They said you don't need paperwork or anything to prove it's an 'emotional support' pet. You just have to say it.

I have always paid around $80 for the puppy's fare.
