Luca Dean doesn't bite my feet, thank goodness, but anytime he curls up with me while he is in a playful mood he always tries to nibble on my fingers. I tell him "no" and he stops. Maybe the rollover method is in order -- where you roll them over on their back and growl at them, or use a stern voice. It helps them know you're in charge and that no means no. When he chews on other non-toy stuff, I tell him no and he immediately runs away from whatever he's chewing on. I then find a toy, give it to him, and talk baby talk to him. The cooing makes him so happy -- so we play for a minute with the toy and he's getting attention from me. I guess he associates the good attention with the toy and he is much better about finding a toy than my tables, chairs, moulding, etc. Also, anytime I catch him with a toy I'll say, "Oh! You found your toy! that's a cute duckie! Get the duckie Luca Dean.....etc." in a really sweet voice, and it tends to get him wound up and he'll toss his toy around even more. |
