[Peanut's Mum]

Hi Guys,

I'm planning on painting my hallway in the next few days. The white has become very faded and dull. But i had a few questions I was hoping some experienced painters could answer!

The hallway is already painted with a semi-gloss paint.

1. Must I sand the semi-gloss paint off?? If I really do need to sand it off, any recommendations? I do have an automatic sander. But what about the trim areas or the hard to sand areas? Maybe instead of sanding off the old paint, i can just throw on some primer?

2. Do I really need to use primer before I paint? There are no cracks, uneven surfaces in my hallway. The new color I am painting the hallway with is pretty much the same white color, just brighter.
