Thanks everyone! My boyfriend is going to the vet to pick Archie up right now. I think they wanted to keep him overnight just to make sure everything is OK. The vet called right after the surgery yesterday to tell us that everything went well, and he was sitting up and everything, looking around at everything that was going on. I won't be here when Archie gets home (i have to leave in 6 minutes), but I'll see him at 3. I'm sure the E collar will be funny looking, but I can't wait to spend the whole evening with Archie. I have a cough and cold so I'm really really looking forward to curling up on the couch and watching TV with Archie!!! I'm so happy that everything went well. I hope he's not in pain, and I hope he can pee properly...
As for the staying overnight part, some private vets will probably suggest leaving the pets overnight because god forbid something happens that evening, that's a major lawsuit. So, I can understand them wanting to do that and by going to a private vet, I implicitly agreed to it. This vet never made me sign a contract saying that I will NOT sue them if they did anything wrong, so in return for that, they will take as much precaution as they possibly can as a defense if there is a lawsuit. Orinskye---I agree with you...newbies should be very careful of the vets they are choosing, and the contractual relationships they are getting into! |
