He clearly has great taste!
Some dogs do okay w/ complete switches, but it's usually easier gradually. Plus, if he does just pick out the Canidae - he's essentially doing his own 100% switch! LOL.
He probably will eat the other stuff once his hunger gets to him. But, if he's just picking out Canidae and it doesn't bother his tummy - then I'd probably just go for it, if it were me.
