Those of you with a male and female yorkie, I need some advice on what to do today. Kodak (3yrs old) is neutered but Kamari (9mths old) may be going into her 1st heat. My money got funny with my daughter leaving for college so I postponed her spay till Oct. I'm told to look for blood spots but don't see any yet. She is not as energetic and lays in my lap, plays with Kodak for a minute then lays down.
Well, I assume it's coming because Kodak, who normally won't give her the time of day unless he wants to play, is sniffing around her.
Just like a male when they want "some" they act nice.
Normally he's growling or hiding from her, now he's sniffing her butt. He's even laying by her right now and this morning he kept going behind her trying to hump her.
I'm online pricing doggy diapers now and I had to put a wrap on Kodak to make him sit the hellyell down. I have somewhere to go today, I can't leave her here for him to keep harrassing her for her cookie.
What do I need to do and how long does the heat last and will there be blood to clean up. I can lock him out the room at night, but I have to leave during the day.
