Kelly - that was very good undercover work !! I think you have a calling for it good job having Recon with you - and I'm happy to hear about your grandma too !!

On that mill - I remember when I first met my hubby - he had cockers - we went to get Tessa at the "BREEDER" who sold cockers - it was a mill and this is BEFORE I had heard what Mills were. I was totally shocked and upset. this operated just outside Houston city limits WAY back off a main road where you can't see it.

As I said in my 'other' post regarding Puppy Mills - ANYONE who has been to a mill - will KNOW it's a mill and will NEVER forget it. The smell is UNBELIEVABLE....the barking is relentless and those doggies just plead to be set free....

This is even MORE sad hearing because it's not just the "big" mills that are operating - there are many small ones and shutting them down is very hard. The Guidelines are set up in such a way they can easily skirt around providing proper care and medical attention. The bottom line is they are just FULL of suffering and pain.

How many dogs would you say were onsite when you being "Columbo" ? A small mill can hold 200-500 dogs easily when you consider they stack cages and have multiple dogs per cage.

I also want to add - HATS Off to you for caring enough to go there and for doing such a good job not getting caught. If what you saw from a distance was bad - you can imagine how truly sickening it must be inside.

Hats off also to Yorkietalk Admin for taking a stand against puppy mills -I know it's a touchy subject - but it shouldn't be. We all should be on the same page - if it looks like a mill....smells like a mill - then it must BE a mill.
