Default Microchip, do they move?

Lacey got her microchip the end of march 2004 and since then it has moved to the side of her rib area. It was inserted at the shoulder blade while she was at the vets for her dental cleaning. Last week I felt a lump in her rib area and went to the vets to have it checked, he told me that it was the microchip and not to worry,it registered fine and it moves around under the skin area. If it doesn't bother her then she's ok.

I was just wondering if any of you have had any bad experiences with microchips moving. I know I'll have to watch it now in hopes it doesn't get in her collar/harness area and cause irritations, then it will have to be surgically removed.

I know I'd like to microchip Lindsey also when she has her dental cleaning next year for the first time, but now wondering if I should and have the same thing happen with her. I'm puzzled and I know its important to have a permanent identification and tattooing seems crued. Any feedback on this subject would be appreciated.
