I have a small fenced in back yard for the dogs to go potty in, well the grass has never grown very well there as it is shady most of the day, now there is hardly anything but dirt. Winter will be here before you know it and the rain and snow is going to make it a muddy mess, so that means wiping the dogs feet everytime they go out before they come back in. Talk about a hassle, on 3 dogs, plus they hate it. So does anyone have any ideas on what I could put on the dirt to cover it so it won't get muddy but yet they will potty on and easy to get the poo up? I was thinking mulch maybe, sometimes they go in the front yard and always seem to want to go to my bed that has mulch in it to go. I want it to be safe for them, yet easily cleanable. I plan on tilliing up what grass there is and covering with something before fall sets in. We don't use that part of the yard for anything but the dogs to potty in. Any advice???
