I hope I am wrong; but a couple of things jump out at me. A good breeder would never let a yorkie go to its new home at 8 weeks; and there is no way to GUARANTEE a 3 pound pup. Even very small sires and dams can have a larger puppy. For the breeder to tell you that it would be okay because the puppy isn't fragile is silly. Puppies learn so much socialization from their mothers and littermates during those first few months, that that is the best reason to leave with mother longer. I hope all goes well for you; but a little caution in the beginning can save you a lot of cost, and heartache in the future.
