Also wanted to add that if you buy something anywhere else but ebay, the buyer protection does not apply at all. If you order from a site, get it and they sent you something completely different or broken and the seller says "oh well" and you file a dispute...guess what? Paypal says that it's not even considered because it wasn't done through ebay. There are seriously tons of people who have lost money to paypal(it's scary) I read up on it after I had two things happen to me. Their seller protection plan doesn't apply if someone stole the other persons information or hacked into their account. Which means if you send it to the address paypal tells you to, use tracking and signature(and there's a whole bunch of other loophole stuff you have to do) it won't mean a thing if the person said "that wasn't an authorized purchase, I don't know where all that information came from in my account...someone must have changed it".
Remember, your cc company will protect you but not paypal. NEVER use funds in your account, never use direct transfer from your bank account, only use your cc with them(if it were up to me, I'd tell you to never use paypal). Hundreds upon hundreds of people have been ripped off by them I don't understand how they are still in business. Scammers get smarter and smarter and learn how to take funds out of peoples accounts and paypal doesn't want to lose money so of course they'd rather take the money from the honest people who actually have it than try to get back from a scammer who they can't find. Enough about that depressing subject but I never knew this stuff before it happened to me. |
