I agree with you! It's true that it affects them how we play with them. My husband got a kick out of holding Phoebe on his lap facing out, and sneaking up on her with his hand and grabbing her suddenly so she would "talk" to him (growls, and whines). I noticed she looked very irritated and told him to quit. A few weeks later ( before he actually quit..which he did after the incident), my daughter went to pick her up off my bed to put her in her crate for the night and Phoebe snapped at her!!! I was shocked....we put her on her back and said NO, firmly. It has happened a couple times since, but only mildly, and she always looks guilty and rolls on her back afterwards, like "sorry!"... AND my husband has quit that little game with her. I think Phoebe started interpreting us picking her up, or our hands, as being an irritation... and I sure don't want that! I think we should always be able to pick up our babies when we need to without worrying about biting!
Sheesh! Hopefully your family will listen to you!
