I have raised Chattie and Chizzie from young puppy hood, and Scarlett O'Harley from birth. All three girls considered fingers and toes the best and most interesting toys in the entire world. To me it was a supreme compliment that they loved my hands and toes..... and early on they learned to control the pressure they used. When they chomped down too hard, I would tell them NO in a firm voice and quit playing for a few minutes. They learn very fast.

Now, the girls are all grown up and don't play with hands and feet much any more. Chizzie lives for her ball game, Scarlett is presently occupied being big sister and baby sitter for Chizzie's 4 pups, and Chattie is way too busy being a Prima Dona to bother with finger chewing. You know, I miss those puppy days.....

Enjoy the puppy time - it is over all too soon. When Yumi mouths you, tell her NO in a firm voice and completely ignore her for two or three minutes - in time she will learn that it is not acceptable.
