Aw I'm sorry he made you feel like that. I know not all vets think of dogs as "babies" like we do but they shouldn't criticize someone for the way they treat their dog (unless they're treating it badly or doing something that could really harm it). I wouldn't go back there...

So far as the overweight issue, 13oz can be quite a bit of extra weight for a tiny dog. You should be able to run your hand pretty lightly over your dogs ribs and be able to feel them. You shouldn't have to press at all to feel them. If so, she may have a little extra weight on her. 13oz overweight at 5lbs isn't going to make her obese or anything, but you don't want her to gain anymore
