Dogs do love being with people. Dogs do not need or want "alone time". They are pack animals and need socialization with humans. I'm not saying that you can't leave your dog alone, but its not something that they crave.

Its generally accepted among behavioralists that dogs do have emotions. They communicate those emotions to us through body language, facial expressions, and noise. Yes, dogs can feel sad, just as they can feel happy, fearful, and excited. Dogs can even have emotional disorders such as OCD, GAD, and separation anxiety.
