I have two yorkies and while neither have the genetic defects listed, my oldest Sedrick has a congenital defect that is common to toy breeds. He has AAS (atlanto-axial subluxation) In laymans terms he was born without the dens between the C1 C2 vertebrae and suffered a "broken neck" at 7 months of age. Most pups that have this start off with AAI (instability and not subluxation) and can now be treated with surgery with phenomenal success.
This is the same defect that affects Val and Babybear who are members of YT as well.
