I do not agree. I don't think we should leave until the Iraqi military is ready to protect the country themselves, after all, we are the ones that disbanded their military and bombed their infrastructure. I do not wish to think that all the United States has done in Iraq is for naught. I think we could have done better in Iraq, such as accelerated training for their military and closing borders so that insurgents could not enter from other countries.

If we leave now, with no military in place, Iraq will become a breeding ground for terrorism and the US will be known as a country that invades a country and leaves things worse than when we got there.

Believe me, I am not a supporter of President Bush. In fact, I voted for Kerry (who promised to have accelerated training of the military). But I do not wish to go into Iraq again because of terrorism, which we will if the government does not succeed.

Also, if we cut and run now, Iran will think they can build their nuclear weapons without impunity because the American people (not the military) do not have the staying power to complete a job.

I love our military. When I see someone who is uniform, I thank them for their service to our country. They are in my thoughts every day.

Let's finish the job as soon as possible and then get out as fast as we can.
