Don't get me wrong, I am not condoning the breeding of super-tiny yorkies, however, at one time, it was standard practice in the birthplace of the Yorkshire Terrier. |
To have a dog able to fit into a teacup would not be the intent of the original breeders as they desired a ratter. It would be hard to keep the textile mills free of rats when you're no bigger than one. It seems to me they are pushing for a yorkie that looks more and more like a chihuahua in coat all the time. If you look at the yorkies being shown in England and abroad you will notice that they are a bit bigger and more elegant than alot of what is being bred in this country.
