i know exactly how you feel!
all my parents' friends whenever they come over to our house for dinner or something .. all their kids will go into my room (even if I am not there .. which pisses me off more) and will try to find kikko to play with him.
When they are around, I usually put him in my room, lock the door, and tell them he's sleeping. The only time I let them touch kikko is when i'm holding him in my lap and i'm able to tell them to just pet him. then when i think he's had enough i tell the kids i have to put him away b/c he's tired or something.
iunno i have just seen way too many kids try to hold them and they fall, pull their ears, chase them around (which can ultimately make the dog feel cornered and threatened), iunno i never feel that comfortable with little kids b/c they may not be aware of their strength and limitations, and are not able to read the dogs behaviour quick enough something could happen. |
