I had a patio with a fence at an apartmentcomplex. I used this trick because you couldn't alter/damage anything permanently plus it had to be white... At home depo or Lowes they have closet shelving that is wire covered with plastic/vinyl you get it cut to how many feet you need, i bought the widest one(deep from front to back) and used plastic zip ties to hold it over the porch railing so my Bailey couldn't get out. She never tried to jump over it or climb over it, and it kept her on the patio. I bet it would work to cover a doorway too. I did buy a mesh sided playpen and she scaled the walls on that and was free in no time at all... Hope that helps
