Default Ginger's allergy battle

I feel for you. Ginger battles allergies, and while she's allergic to several foods (we've had her tested) her environmental allergy list is long as well. She's not only allergice to several types of grass, weed and mold, she's allergic to her brother the cat.

Anyway, I have found bathing her with a mild soap (I use aveeno baby bath), vacuuming frequently, wiping her paws when we come in (even rinsing them in the sink) and Occasional oatmeal baths soothe her itchy/sore skin.

I also use an herbal flea shampoo that doesn't seem to irritate her as much as other regular "dog" shampoos (I've decided against using chemical flea repellent on my dogs).

A high quality diet helps too.

Even with all that, we still use the occasional benedryl...and in the spring I've succumbed to letting the vet prescribe a steroid (I know, I shouldn't, but she was SO miserable)

A friend of mine swears by her air purifier...I haven't invested in one yet...but that may help too.

Good luck and keep us posted!
