This is crazy but I am so proud of a 15-year old girl I have never met! But she's from the Des Moines-area and any American should be proud of her.
Shawn Johnson - a gymnast won Gold yesterday at the World championship in all-around. The meet is being held in Germany & earlier this week Shawn led the USA team to gold - over the Chinese I believe by almost a point! Tomorrow she goes on to compete in some individual events.
This girl won gold at the Pam Am games this summer and then the US Championship in California a couple weeks ago.
This is huge - May Lou Retton, Cathy Rigby & Dominque Dawes never earned the World's best title in all-around & Shawn has trained almost exclusively right here at home!
