It doesn't sound bad to me...you are only leaving her for short periods. Does she have separation issues or does she act out when she is alone for periods of time?
Here--this will make you feel better...when I go to work, I have to leave Max and Abbie for about 8 hours
. And I work too far to come home for lunch to take them out. I HATE doing it but I have to go to work and I live alone and my family lives on the other side of PA so there's no one to help out. I use an exercise pen and enclosed in an area for them so they are not crated for such a long period of time. They each have access to their crate with a fluffy bed, another big fluffy bed in the area, and a big leather chair so they can look out the window. Oh-and their food and water, of course. They tolerate my absence well...
