Welcome to YT. Your wife is going to be thrilled. She may even quit work to be with the baby. Yorkies love people contact, so your baby is not going to like being alone. It's going to make training a lot harder, but eventually will work out. The x-pen is a great idea. Bed, toys, food and water at one end and wee wee pad at the other is a great idea. We bought one from Petsmart for Maggie. When I would be mowing the lawn, I would put her in it. When she was little, she could go through the squares on a chain link fence, so the x-pen was a life saver. Good Luck and Holler Anytime.
