I agree with you 100%, but I understand how difficult this decision must be for you. It is often difficult to do the right thing.

How close (geographically) are you to them? Maybe you can hang on to the pup until their lives are more settled??

I might ask them if they are planning on having children anytime soon. I hope they would say no for the same reasons you listed. Maybe then you can explain that a puppy is a baby, with more fur!

Good luck...this has to be a difficult time for you.
