If you can go a few days without brushing, and still get a brush through, the pup has a GREAT coat. I think high quality food, good shampoo and conditioner make a world of difference in their coat - whatever kind it is. Julz is right about the eye color. I read that somewhere, too - green is indicative of a silk coat. White spots on their chest, too.

I will say, if you don't stay in the habit of brushing at a particular interval and it does get matted up, you may have to shave her down. That is the bad part of a good coat.
