Stanley did have his surgery aug 28, & is doing fine. He was "softly" whimpering when I picked him up the day after the surgery & I thought he was in pain, but they told me he was excited to see me & that was the way to show it. They sent him home with 5 five pain medication syringes (no needles) but I only gave him four as he didn't seem to need them after the third day home. It was given orally once a day. He was "sickly" "weak" two days then was back to "bossing" the cat etc. etc. The stitches are to stay in 10-14 days & he gets his out on the 14th day. He has to wear a "collar" & confined strickly the first five days except for leased backyard trips. Now when I'm home I let him out to sit on my lap etc. but no jumping or running. I have the sofa blocked & all chairs turned backwards. It is tough the first three days but then you'll know you did the right thing. Hope this helps someone needing to go thru this.
