We are all too familiar with the "nod, smile, walk away"! Also, the "we just make it a practice not to let anyone hold her" refusal! We are constantly amazed, when we have Toto out, at some things that people will say/ask/do!! A nice man at PetSmart, who had the biggest dog I have ever seen, was giving BIG treats to his pet and reached over and handed one to Toto!!
That treat was so big ... it was probably equivilent to Toto's 1/8 cup food ration for her dinner!! My Patrick, bless him, quickly thanked him and said "here Toto, let me help you with that" ... took it and as soon as we rounded the corner ... tossed it! He is so much more gracious than I!!!
