Our Min Pin is like this, too.
She did that with stuffed animals, too. It was so sad. Then she would just cry and cry. We found out that she couldn't have puppies, but she kept having these pseudo-pregnancies and she would actually lactate and "feed" these stuffed animals because she really thought they were hers. Broke my heart
Then our cat had kittens and she stole one of them as her own. Poor thing has a scar on top of her eye from where the cat attacked her when she came to get her baby back
