Thanks, the fabric choices are great too! |
I usually change mine every day. Of course I have 6 yorkies. I use one pad in the puppy pen, one in my office where the girls usually stay and if it is raining I put one in the kitchen where the boys stay because even though they have a doggie door, they don't like to go in the rain. You know how that goes

. So I usually use two a day unless it is bad weather. Of course if there is poo on it I pick it up as soon as I see it. I usually only wash a load of them every couple of days so I just fold them in fourths with the dirty side in and put them in a stack on the floor in the laundry room. This way they don't smell even after a couple of days waiting to be washed.
It usually soaks up pretty quickly. That is why I get the 100% cotton fabric. But even those fabrics are not all equally as absorbent. I test them after I prewash them and if it doesn't soak in quickly I don't use it. I have a bag of cute fabrics that I bought that didn't pass the test that I will have to think of something to make out of them. It seems that all the cutest fabrics have a finish on them that repels liquids!

So I really have to search to find cute
and absorbent.
