The trainer is designed to help with obedience training & behavior modification. When your pet exhibits an undesirable behavior, you push the N button which emits a high-frequency tone that humans can't hear but the pet can. Then, when the pet exhibits correct behavior, you push the P button; this makes a nice tone (that you can hear) that helps to reinforce to your pet that this behavior is good.
The guide explains how it all works and even gives tips on how to teach basic obedience and how to eliminate unwanted behaviors: jumping up, digging, chasing, trash raiding & excessive barking.
Oh, and it has a belt clip on the back so you can keep the remote handy.
