It sounds pretty normal to me. I have bred my female after the bleeding stopped and have had her bleed a week later. Boy did this make me doubt myself. It has happened more than once and she is perfectly normal and healthy and produced pups (they won't breed willingly if the timing isn't right). Since you aren't familiar, a trip to the vet will make you feel better. You can also go online and research the estrus and pro estrus to get more familair with it. Believe me, this was not a stupid question .
