Default those darn anal glands!

Good thing you saw her scooting!

Bubba didn't scoot, all the sudden one day he was major lethargic & then I smelled it! He had burst his anal gland early this spring. The vet cleaned him up and gave me this ointment in a long nosed tube to use inside the sore until it healed over. Not fun to administer to my little guy - even though the said it shouldn't hurt.

The worst part is they say they can be more susceptible to this happening again, so i was paranoid about it and a couple weeks later took him back to have the glands expressed again and try to get a lesson to do it myself - because it was a costly procedure.

I've only done it once - gloves & lubricant - a must! Thank goodness he has been good to go since then!

I think there is a lot to be said for a warm bath. I always place the dogs' behinds under a warm stream of water when bathing
