Boston Terriers are super kid pups, but not "toddlers".... I would wait a while too to add a pet. How heartbreaking it would be for you to have to rehome a furbaby...
Please do not add a golden retriever without a fenced in yard or a place to run. They are very high energy dogs and need space to roam...
I have a lab who is FABULOUS With little ones, but then again, my "larger" yorkie is totally into playing with the kids....
