i have been speaking with a lovely lady that runs a place called "twisted wiskers". I want to do some more research but she sounds like she is a wonderful person. Basically, they only handle cats...but they take in strays and babies of all ages and foster them until they find a new home. The screen the new homes intensely and keep tabs on the kittens. They get them all of their shots and are NO KILL and if ever the kitten does not work out at it's new home, they will take it back.
I am waiting for a call from one of the ladies that actually nurses the kittens in her home to see how I feel about this. I have offered to foster the kitten until they find it a new home...so we will see what happens. I hate for such a small baby to go through too many different hands at such a young age. I would imagine they get used to your smell and get comfortable with that.
so far, so good. i took her to the vet and she is weighing 1.25 oz. she is sooooo tiny.
she is eating really well and is going potty really good too!!!!
