 porches
I have lived in houses with all types of porches..ones in the back and front..but it has only been recently that I totally enjoy watching people..does this make me OLD??? My grandfather just about lived on his front porch the last 25 years of his life. In fact, my aunt used to drop him off downtown and he would sit on a park bench for hours while she shopped and ran errands.
I had a physical some months back and if you can believe it I forgot to take my insurance card and ID..the receptionist was totally ticked off and showed it...after making me wait 30 mins, and no acknowledgement, my daughter went over and said.."Just for your information...you can make my mother wait all day and it won't bother her a bit..she will sit and watch people until you close"...the office had a patio, the sun was shining, breeze blowing, people coming and going..if I had brought a lunch I would have stayed all day...LOL It takes very little to make me happy...and a big porch is heaven!!! |
