I don't find it that difficult, but it is time consuming. It would probably take less time if you use clippers, but I like Chewy's hair a little longer so I scissor cut it. I use small clippers just to do his ears, belly and privates. After I bathe and blow him dry, the cut takes me about an hour or so. Because I'm still learning, after the cut, I sometimes go back and make adjustments. I did buy a DVD on grooming, and that helped quite a bit. Here's a couple of pics...
