I used to watch This Old House years ago... loved it! lol

My hubby is a carpenter, so I'm pretty lucky there. Our biggest challenge is the house itself. We can't knock out walls and really change anything major in that way. Back in the day, this was a very grand house. The 2nd floor was where they lived and entertained. There wasn't a kitchen in the house, they had a separate building for that. To keep the heat and odors out. The 1st floor was the basement - coal room, meat room, etc. Years ago, they converted the 1st floor to have the kitchen, bathroom, living room and family room. The 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms now and a rec room. The 3rd floor has 3 bedrooms too. We're gradually getting it all worked on, but it's slow going.
